Many
colleagues of engineering must have heard about such circuit
interference with radio signals, calls conducted electromagnetic
interference or "EMC" and radiated electromagnetic interference or
"EMI", acronyms derived from the expressions in the English language. Since the beginning of the discovery of radio signals issuing this
problem was already a bad derivative equipment with power via power
grid, especially with the growth of its use from the Second World War.
In my professional life I witnessed several cases where EMC and EMI were great villains, such as in thermal printers. With the interference by EMC in equipment powered via mains and EMI in equipment to the battery. In current peak conditions for heating the driver circuit is
susceptible to this type of interference noise generating circuit in the
control system and in some cases stopping printing by external
interference.
This is one of the less serious cases that have ever witnessed and
thanks to pre analysis equipment in specialized laboratories
telecommunications, I could see this effect and fix it.
I leave here my tip to colleagues, to that end in the case of Brazil
Anatel regulates the majority of telecommunications and automation
equipment to prevent breakdowns in increased risk of equipment such as
aircraft and in the medical field.
Abroad also have the regularizadores organs like FCC (US and Canada), MRC (Australia) and many others.
I recommend to colleagues a search and if in doubt about which laws,
resolutions and parameters meet always consult an expert because the
risk is great in equipment designs with embedded electronics.
